Sheila Zimmermann (*2000, Mühlheim am Main, Germany) currently lives and works in Berlin. She graduated her high school degree with a specialization in media and design technology and has always been approaching things creatively and artistically since childhood. She started studying fine arts at Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin in 2021 and completed her diploma recently unter Professor Pia Linz, where she focused on her painterly skills and visual language. In Summer 2027 she will participate in an MFA program in Friederike Feldmann’s class at the same university.

Sheila has taken part in many group exhibitions (artistically as well as organizational) and in an artists residency program in Romania in 2024, when she also started to take her travel experiences into account of her artistic research. Her work is mostly influenced by her surroundings. Focusing on nature and human made structures which are occupied or withered by the plant and animal-world, which she then paints. To emulate the specific feeling that occurs to her while being present in those versatile scenarios is what motivates her to paint. Next to her painting practice she works with humans and their skin, for which she creates fine drawings that correlate to the flow of the body in conjunction with organic matter and tattoos them.
